This Malecite community is settled on a tongue of land at the confluent of the Tobique and Saint John rivers. Residents call their village: Na Goot Koog.

One of the sources of pride for the community is the MAH-SOS School built in 1975. The building was designed in the shape of a fiddlehead. Moreover, MAH-SOS means fiddlehead in Malecite.

In Tobique, several craft shops sell original products made by community artists. Close to route 105 is the Tobique Wigwam, an Amerindian craft store.

Shirley Bear Clair, Malecite artist, paints magnificent tableaux. Hazel Perley and Donald Moulton also own craft shops. Mr.Moulton produces very beautiful hand-made baskets.

In Tobique, the July 26 festivities mark Sainte-Anne Day.

Since 1995, Labour Day Weekend is set for the largest music festival in the Maritimes. Internationally renowned artists take the stage for this outdood event the Wabanaki Aboriginal Music Festival.
