Félix Dugal (1867-1946) (am_1249)

Click to enlargeFourthparish priest of Drummond, the Good Mr. Dugal as the people called him, was born in Rivière-du-Loup, Quebec. He was the son of Charles Dugal and Vénérante D'Amour and half brother to Msgr. Louis-Napoléon Dugal. He was ordained a priest at Quebec in 1892 by Bishop Blais of Rimouski. He was curate in Saint-Léonard for two years then parish priest of Saint-Michel of Drummond from 1894 to 1932. Next, he was chaplain at the Sisters of the Good Shepherd in Rivière-du-Loup and later at the St. Joseph noviciate in Vallée-Lourdes from 1935 to 1939. He retired at Hôte-Dieu St. Joseph in Saint-Basile and is buried in the cemetery of the Sisters community. The residents of Drummond had great respect for this holy priest who was their parish priest for almost 37 years. Photo taken around 1935.
