Click to enlargeLongevity explains the presence of two complete family lines in this photo, first row: Lucien Beaulieu and his father Samuel Sam Beaulieu. 2nd row: Jean Jack Beaulieu, Sam's father, and Abraham Lagacé, Elisabeth's father (married to Sam). 3rd row: Hermine Bard, Jack Beaulieu's wife; and Louise Grenier, wife of Abraham Lagacé. 4th row: Gilberte Lily Beaulieu, Lucien's sister, and baby Marguerite Michaud (daughter of Germaine Beaulieu); Yvonne Lavoie, Lucien's wife, and their oldest daughter Claudette; Elisabeth Lagacé, Sam Beaulieu's wife. The photo was taken on the steps in front of Lucien and Yvonne's house, where Abraham and Hermine lived for a few years. Also the babies in the photo have two grandparents (Beaulieu) and two pairs of great-grandparents (Beaulieu and Lagacé). To distinguish their Beaulieu grandfathers, Lucien's children made up the name Old Grandfather for the great-grandfather Jack Beaulieu (died in 1951) and New Grandfather for grandfather Sam Beaulieu (died in 199?). Photo taken in 1935. Lent by the Beaulieu family.
