Drummond Rectory (am_786)

Click to enlargeIn 1894, parish priest Félix Dugal bought, for $1500, 100 acres of land facing the first church which was the property of George W. Day. The house located there would serve as the rectory until 1915 when he had a large wooden rectory built. In 1936, some Sisters of Our Lady of Sacred Heart came to take responsibility of the school in the village and the sacristy, plus the choir and teaching of music. They were Sisters Adrienne, Agathe, Edith and Francisca. They lived in the house of the sexton, on the other side of the church. In the back, stands the two floor parish hall that was built by Father Alfred Lang in 1942. A tennis court at the side of the rectory was accessible to the young boys and girls of the parish. Photo taken around 1945.
