Alfred Lang (1893-1986) (am_783)

Click to enlargeBorn in Clair, Alfred was the son of Thomas P. Lang and Claudia Morneault. He studied in Clair then at the Sainte-Anne-de-la-Pocatière College and at the Grand Séminaire in Quebec. In 1921, he was ordained a priest by Cardinal Bégin in the Quebec Basilica. He was curate in Chatham, Saint-Basile, Saint-Léonard and Edmundston before being named parish priest of Saint-Isidore. In 1941, he became parish priest of Drummond where he lived until 1968. He was named Domestic Prelate in 1960. Msgr. Lang retired in Grand Falls and then at the Foyer St. Joseph in Saint-Basile. He was buried in the cemetery of the parish of Drummond.
