Three friends from Drummond live it up (am_2375)
Since Drummond is located near Grand Falls, the people usually went there to shop, for business and
for entertainment. In addition to taking wedding pictures or special events, Fred Cormier, a
photographer from Grand Falls, knew how to highlight ordinary people. These three men pose in work
clothes with handmade boots called shoepacks, heavy wool socks and woolen trousers coming
just below the knee. They had taken off one of their mittens to raise their glass. From left to
right: Israël Levesque (husband of Hénédine Caron), Cyprien Godbout (married Alice Gagnon in 1916)
and Onésime Thériault (married Marie-Louise Lavoie in 1914). Photo taken in 1910. Fred R. Cormier,
Grand Falls, N. B. Lent by Jean-Guy Plourde.
